CPA Meets B.C. Ministries

This spring, the CPA joined forces with B.C. committee members to advocate its positions with the B.C. Departments of Environment, Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure. The discussions focused on how propane can play a significant role to help the province reduce transportation-related greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions – presently about 39 per cent of all tailpipe releases.

The first meeting was March 15th, 2017. Brian Osland and Willie Stephen met with Mary Polak, environment minister and Martina Kapac de Frias, chief of staff and briefed them on the benefits of using propane and how it’s use could make an immediate impact on the government’s GHG reduction targets. The pair liked the idea of adding alternative fuel vehicles to the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane to motivate drivers to switch to more friendly fuels.
