Shell’s Exploration Guru Steps Down + Other C-Suite Changes

The international giant, Royal Dutch Shell, announced its executive vice president, upstream international vice president, Ceri Powell, has stepped down. A geologist by training, she joined the company in 1990 and was appointed managing director of Brunei Shell Petroleum. Subsequently she worked in the United Kingdom, Angola, Malaysia, the Netherland, and the United Arab Emirates. She also served on the United Nations Advisory Board for Sustainable Energy for All, chaired by the Secretary general.

As Shell absorbs the BG Group, its board of directors also shuffled a number of other executive positions:

  • Jessica Uhl is now chief financial officer replacing Simon Henry; and

Gerard Paulides was appointed head of investor relations as a reward for overseeing the BG acquisition.
